Ramona Mitchell's paintings are a heavenly interchange between line and shadow, light and hue. The result is a pendulous effect, motion swinging between the edges of the surface - the forms spiral, momentum building into a whirlpool of energy. Gesture becomes studied and formlessness builds its own borders. In spite of the continuous energetic aspects of the pieces, there is a certain serenity present, as if tempestous was meant to exist alongside evolution.
